There are many processors available in the market. However, we should consider something while purchasing. When you’re buying a Computer/Laptop, building it from scratch, or upgrading your CPU, you must take some time and thought into which processor to buy. The choice of your processor today will affect your computer’s speed and functionality for years to come.
Types:
There are two major manufacturers of computer microprocessors. Intel and AMD(Advanced Micro Device) are lead the market with speed and quality of the processor. Intel desktop CPU’s contains Intel® Pentium® series, Intel® Core Processor series, Intel® Xeon® Processor series, Intel® Quad Processor Series, Intel® Celeron® Processor and Mobile Processors. AMD’s desktop contains Sempron, Athlon and Phenom. AMD also makes mobile processor of its Sempron and Athlon and Turion mobile processor. Each Manufacturers makes both single and multi-core processors.
Features:
Both Processor has clock speed measured in GHz(Gigahertz). CPU has two or three levels of cache. Cache is a buffer/temporary memory between RAM and Processor. The socket type of the processor determines which motherboard it will be support.

AMD Quad core Phenom 2 Chip
AMD’s Quad-core Phenom 2 Chips are now available in Market since Jan 09.
These processors have speed of 2.8 GHz to 3 GHz with 8MB inbuilt cache. First processor, Phenom II X4 920 runs at 2.8GHz and is being priced between $271 and $317 USD while the Phenom II X4 940 which runs at 3GHz is being sold for anything between $304 and $373 USD and it all depends on the store. They run on DDR2 platforms and will be moved to DDR3 platforms based on the AM3 sockets.
Dell launches new Desktops Inspiran 535 and 545
Dell has announced the launch of new desktop computers in India, new Inspiron 535 and Inspiron 545 are slim computes. Its available in eight Colors Piono black, Pure white, True blue, Formula red, Orange tangerine, Spring Green, Flamingo Pink, and Plum Purple colors.
Mr. Girish Mehta, Director(Consumer Marketing), Dell India said, The system can be customized to fit everyone’s lifestyle and budget.
These models come with Intel Pentium, Intel Core 2 Duo and Intel Core 2 Quad processors. It has upto 750GB storage(slim-tower) or upto 1TB storage(mini-tower) and upto 8GB Memory on selected systems. and includes 19-in-1 Media Card Reader(Optional) and HDMI connectivity(Optional), 6USB ports(2 fronts, 4 back), dual optical options including Blu-Ray Disc Drive.
